A quiet evening inย Berne, Indianaย turned tragic when aย Jeep slammed into an Amish buggyย on State Road 218, leavingย seven people injuredย โ most of them children. The violent crash happened aroundย 11:20 p.m., scattering debris and passengers across the dark rural road. First responders found theย buggy destroyedย and the Jeep resting in a nearby ditch.Authorities confirmed the buggy carriedย nine passengers, includingย six juveniles.ย Ruben L.M. Schwartz, 32, was airlifted in critical condition, whileย Joseph L.M. Schwartz, 20, and five children were rushed by ambulance to Parkview Hospital. Two others โย Saraetta L. Schwartz, 32, and a 2-year-old โ declined treatment at the scene. The Jeepโs driver,ย Bradley J. Ocilka, 33, of Kentucky, was subjected to aย legal blood drawย as part of the investigation.
